Comprehensive Guide to Managing and Customizing Employee Shifts in Attendance Settings
STEP 1: Click on "Employee Shifts" to Manage Attendance Settings

Navigate to the Attendance Settings section of the application.

Click on the Employee Shifts tab, highlighted in the interface.

This section allows you to view and manage employee shift details, including:
- Start Time: Set the beginning of the shift (default: 10:00 am).
- Half Day: Specify the time for half-day shifts (default: 1:00 pm).
- End Time: Define when the shift concludes (default: 7:00 pm).
- Late Mark: Adjust the minutes for late arrivals (default: 15).
- Maximum Check-ins: Limit the number of check-ins allowed per day (default: 2).
- Office Days: Review the operational days of the week.

Ensure all settings are accurate to effectively manage employee attendance.
STEP 2: Click "Add New Shift" to Create a Shift
- Locate the "Add New Shift" button in the Attendance Settings section.
- Click on the button to initiate the process of adding a new shift.
- A form will appear, prompting you to enter details such as:
- Shift Name: Specify the name of the shift.
- Start Time: Set the starting time for the shift.
- End Time: Define when the shift will conclude.
- Half Day: Optionally, indicate if this is a half-day shift.
- After filling out the necessary fields, ensure all information is accurate before submitting.
STEP 3: Enter Shift Name
- In the "Add New Shift" form, locate the Shift Name input field.
- Click on the field to activate it, then type your desired shift name, such as "Night Shift."
- Ensure the name accurately reflects the shift's purpose for easy identification later.
- After entering the shift name, proceed to fill in the Shift Short Code, Shift Start Time, and Shift End Time fields to complete the shift details.
- Review your entries for accuracy before submitting the form.
STEP 4: Enter Shift Short Code
- Click on the Shift Short Code input field, highlighted in the form.
- Type the desired short code (e.g., "NS") to identify the shift easily.
- Ensure the code is unique to avoid conflicts with existing entries.
- Review other fields in the form, such as Shift Name, Shift Start Time, and Shift End Time, to ensure all necessary information is filled out.
- Once completed, proceed to the next step to finalize the shift details.
STEP 5: Select Color Code Using the Color Picker
- Locate the Color Code input field in the form.
- Click on the color picker icon (highlighted area) next to the Color Code field.
- A color selection dialog will appear, allowing you to choose a color visually.
- Select your desired color by clicking on it, which will automatically populate the Color Code field with the corresponding hex code.
- Ensure the selected color meets your requirements before proceeding to fill in other fields.
This step enhances the visual customization of your form.
STEP 11: Enter Shift Start Time
- Click on the "Shift Start Time" input field highlighted in the form.
- Enter the desired start time for the shift using the format provided (e.g., 06:30 PM).
- Ensure that the time entered aligns with your scheduling needs.
- Review adjacent fields for any related information, such as "Shift End Time" and "Early Clock In (minutes)," to ensure consistency in your shift scheduling.
- After entering the time, proceed to fill in any other required fields in the form.
STEP 12: Enter Shift End Time
- Locate the "Shift End Time" field within the form.
- Click on the highlighted area to activate the input box.
- Enter the desired end time for the shift using the format HH:MM AM/PM (e.g., 06:30 PM).
- Ensure the time entered aligns with your shift schedule.
- Review nearby fields such as "Shift Start Time" to confirm consistency.
- Once completed, proceed to fill in any additional required fields below.
This will ensure your shift details are accurately recorded.
STEP 23: Select Shift Start Time
- Click on the "Shift Start Time" field to initiate the time entry process.
- A dropdown or input interface will appear, allowing you to select the desired start time for the shift.
- Use the up and down arrows to adjust the hour and minute values, ensuring the correct time is set.
- Confirm your selection by clicking outside the field or pressing Enter.
- Ensure that the selected time aligns with your operational needs and is consistent with the shift end time.
This step is crucial for accurate scheduling and management of shifts.
STEP 26: Click on "Shift End Time" to Set the End of Your Shift
- Locate the "Shift End Time" field in the form.
- Click on the highlighted area to activate the time selection.
- A dropdown or time picker may appear, allowing you to choose the desired end time for your shift.
- Ensure the time aligns with your shift schedule for accuracy.
- After selecting, verify the input to avoid any discrepancies.
- Continue filling out the remaining fields as necessary to complete your form submission.
STEP 29: Select Half-day Mark Time
- Click on the "Half-day Mark Time" field highlighted in the form.
- A dropdown or input field will appear, allowing you to select or enter the desired time.
- Ensure the time you choose aligns with your organization's policies regarding half-day shifts.
- After selecting the time, review other related fields such as "Shift End Time" and "Maximum check-in allowed in a day" to ensure all entries are consistent.
- Once completed, proceed to save or submit the form to finalize your entries.
STEP 31: Select Early Clock In (minutes) Field
- Click on the "Early Clock In (minutes)" field to activate it.
- Enter the desired number of minutes for early clock-in. This value determines how many minutes before the shift start time employees can clock in.
- Ensure the input is within the acceptable range, as specified by your organization’s policy.
- After entering the value, you can proceed to fill in the "Late mark after (minutes)" field, which is located directly next to it, to set the late arrival threshold.
This will help streamline attendance management effectively.
STEP 35: Click "Save" to Confirm Your Changes
- After filling out the required fields, locate the "Save" button at the bottom right of the form.
- Ensure all mandatory fields marked with an asterisk (*) are completed.
- Click on the "Save" button to store your changes. This action will confirm and apply the information you have entered.
- If you need to cancel your changes, you can click the "Cancel" button next to "Save."
- Review any confirmation messages that appear after saving to ensure your data has been successfully recorded.
